• The Power To Heal and Grow Starts With One Step....

Are you feeling overwhelmed and drained by the demands of work, home or relationships? Is your child making choices you are worried about? Are you stuck in a cycle you can't seem to break out of?

    You Are Not Alone.

I am here to listen, explore and discover what you want in your life and how we can work together to get you there. As with any relationship in life, a "good fit" is best between therapist and client in order to begin this at times challenging yet rewarding experience. I recognize the courage it takes to reach out in a time of struggle. Simply taking this step, to find the best therapist for you, is a movement in the direction of healing. I would be honored to accompany you on your journey.

I believe that you have the power to change and grow.

I believe we each have the capacity for wholeness and well-being within us. However, at times we encounter obstacles and blocks along the way, and benefit from extra support and guidance to work through these challenges and continue on our path of wellness and growth. Every person experiences challenges differently and ways to address them can and do vary. I believe the most important part of working together in therapy is to have an open, collaborative, trusting relationship in which we can work as a team towards solutions to bring you closer to living the life that you desire.

I will walk alongside you on your journey to a define and create a fulfilling, healthy life.

My clients often describe me as compassionate, engaged and nonjudgmental. During therapy, I consider the whole you, our interactions and your social and cultural connections to move us towards your goals. Therapy is experiential, meaning we will at times use practical skills and exercises to find out best how to help you get to where you want to be. I am skilled in the use of mindfulness meditation and visualization during sessions to help you more deeply explore your struggles and directions to overcome them.

I work to empower both parents and their children to make changes.

It can be painful, frightening and frustrating to watch our children struggle and suffer. When working with children my value is to collaborate, support and empower the entire family system. Many of the parents I have worked with have felt relief at being a part of the change process for their child. Many of the children I work with have expressed that having a parent invested in their healing and growth has changed their relationship for the better. I work at all times to balance respect, confidentiality and collaboration with all involved to create a family structure which honors each individual's values and needs.

As a past perfectionist, corporate consultant, stay at home parent and mother juggling the demands of work and family I have experienced the struggles of keeping up in this fast paced world first hand. Each of these experiences has provided me the opportunity to struggle, overcome and grow personally to place of finding what is most meaningful in my own life. This journey has led to me to pursue my passion; supporting others to heal, grow and find balance and meaning in their lives.

My training began as a Sexual Assault Peer Advisor at Dartmouth College; providing support, guidance and referral to others during a time of crisis. I continued to feel deeply committed to this work and received a degree in Psychology while taking many pre-medical courses. This allowed me to explore the biological and physiological origins of dis-ease as well as becoming well versed in the cognitive, social, behavioral and emotional aspects of the mind and self. This experience combined with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University enable me to view struggles and suffering from a whole person perspective.

During my internship experiences at the Bastyr Clinic for Natural Health and Navos Mental Health Solutions, I gained experience working with a range of struggles and concerns. I am particularly interested in understanding how one's cultural identity and personal values inform suffering and healing and provide understanding and direction for overcoming adversity.

I am also a former military wife and sister and am well acquainted with the unique struggles and strengths of the military family and their loved ones.

In my non professional life you may find me behind the barbell, seeking a breathtaking view on hike, tenting along the coast or mountains, tucked in a quiet place with a book or finding joy in play and connection with my family.
